And in the beginning...

There was an explanation.

So here I am. On my boyfriends couch, in OUR living room, and the only thing better than doing nothing at midnight on a Monday is writing to others about it, yes?

Well maybe not the best start. But, turns out I have more.
Yes, I may actually have a plan for this little ol' blog. I have an obsession. A documented and real physical obsession. Any one of my friends, relatives, neighbors or really any random stranger I can accost as I catch them gazing upon me (obviously because of something FABULOUS I am wearing, doing, being, etc.,) can tell you...I have a problem; and that problem is my love of all things thrift store.

Yes, kids, there was a time before thrift shopping became cool. Way before rappers had songs about it and Miley Cyrus started to look like someone threw her in the 99 cent bin with a pair of scissors and a pretty woman fantasy, I was in the back of the neighborhood Salvation Army, digging for gold with my mother and (God Bless her, my terribly embarrassed,) sister Nikki.  I also remember Nik wanting to NOT be there so bad she would endure nearly 90 degree heat in the dirty Ford Fiesta than come inside and be "poor" with Mom and I.
See, I knew way way way back that I was supposed to be cool.
And not the "I've got everything I ever wanted and needed and my parents support me in everything and I got a car as soon as I turned 16 and went to all the dances and proms, (WITH dates,) and go to the dentist as recommended," kind of cool. I knew, and still know, that I was meant to be unique.
Even if I never own a real Berkin bag, I will have the equivalent in a non-animal cruel, more like fake leather, kind of way.

So in a "all kidding aside" sort of way, that really is my story. And the one I would like to continue here. I figure, I am always posting pictures on my Facebook or trying (and mostly failing) to Tweet and Polyvore and all the other etceteras. So I thought, lets start this blog; lets really begin to document what I do nearly daily, and what really can be found if you take the time and care to peer through the dusty vail that still sags over the thrift store.

Thanks for taking a read. And I hope you enjoy and decide to stick around for a bit.

;)
